Safety instructions

Safety should be your highest priority when using the product.

Read this information carefully, as improper use may cause the brush to damage the chimney.

Use a professional drill equipped with a safety clutch so that rotation can be stopped immediately if necessary.

Use a drill with a speed range of 350–2000 rpm. Use a 24 V or higher cordless drill, or a drill with a power rating of at least 500 W.

Never grip the rods too tightly, as the rotating system may catch or pull your gloves.

When connecting the rods, keep them as straight as possible.

Never leave the rods rotating inside the chimney without moving them up or down. Friction may cause the rods to overheat and possibly break.

Before cleaning, make sure the chimney is suitable for cleaning, has no cracks, and that you have selected the correct cleaning head for your chimney type. Metal attachments are highly effective but may damage the chimney if used incorrectly.

STEP 1: INSPECTION AND PREPARATION

1. Place a cloth on the floor to protect the area in front of the fireplace, wood-burning stove or chimney.
2. Open the fireplace door or damper and, if necessary, inspect the chimney with a mirror. If black, shiny tar-like deposits are present, consider having the chimney checked by a professional chimney sweep after cleaning.
3. Secure plastic sheeting with adhesive tape so that it covers the fireplace opening or chimney access door.
4. Make a small cut in the sheeting, large enough for the brush head to pass through.
5. Connect the brush head to the rod.
6. Extend the system by connecting another rod.
7. For additional security, each rod connection may be secured with adhesive tape to reduce the risk of accidental disconnection.
8. Attach the drill adapter to the other end of the rod system.
9. Secure the adapter in the electric or cordless drill.
10. Insert the rod and brush head through the opening in the sheeting and into the chimney.

Check that the chimney is suitable for cleaning, has no cracks and that the correct attachment has been selected. Metal attachments are highly effective but may damage the chimney if used incorrectly.

STEP 2: CHIMNEY CLEANING

1. Start the drill and clean the flue while moving the brush continuously up and down.
2. Carefully add one rod at a time until the top of the chimney is reached.
3. NEVER leave the rods rotating without moving them up and down. Friction may overheat the rods and cause them to break.
4. When withdrawing the system, disconnect the rods one at a time using the pointed end of the hex key.

STEP 3: CLEAN-UP

1. Vacuum or remove soot from the fireplace or chimney. If no vacuum cleaner is available, work slowly to minimize dust.
2. Rinse and dry the brush head and rods with warm soapy water.
3. Store the brush head, rods and hex key safely until the next cleaning.
